England Invite for Under 16’s Academy Player Isabelle Galley

Under 16’s player Isabella Galley has been invited to trial for England after shining for the in her debut season for the Ewe Rams Acadmey oldest age group.

Izzy as she is known to her team mates is playing a year up for Ewe Rams after signing for Derby in the summer and her performances for the team have gone from strength to strength.

This has coincided with her team’s success who are taking the Warwickshire league by storm this season with a 100% win record. Izzy plays in a midfield 3 and is a box to box player who has great control under pressure and is able to pick out a pass to open up the opposition.

Her high energy performances haven’t gone unnoticed by her team mates who enjoy playing with her in the team. Her ability to press and retrieve possession are attributes that earned her a call up to England.

The coaching team are really proud of her development and the England call up is reward for her hard work with Izzy attending the England trial this past Sunday and she’ll hear if she is successful next week. She was the only non-RTC player at the trial which is a great achievement for her and the Academy.

Noting the achievement Academy Director Dave Cholerton said “As a club, we are very proud of her. The FA have opened a grass roots pathway for players to represent England now and Izzy’s talent was identified whilst playing for her county schools team.

“This development from the FA is a great opportunity for our players and it just goes to show that players can achieve their goal of being noticed by England whilst playing in the colours of Derby County Ladies.

“At the Academy, development is our core purpose but often this term gets misunderstood. We are focused on developing every player’s ability and our coaches work hard to develop players individually and collectively as a team.

“Izzy’s success should inspire not only our players but players from all grass roots clubs. We wish her the best of luck and her experience on Sunday is a big part of her development whether she is selected or not, Well done Izzy!”
