Derby County Ladies Football Club

Game Week 11 with Academy Director Dave Cholerton

As we head towards another weekend of action for our Academy, we take a look back at last week’s games that saw the stand-out performance again come from our oldest age group in youth football

The u16 continued their 100% winning record by winning 10-0 versus Solihull with Jet scoring a hat-trick, a brace from Jess and Beth and goals from Eden, Chloe and sipper Abbie.

The u15 (Main picture) were back in action after no game last week. They played Solihull away and after a very good team performance the team won 2-0 with goals from Lilli and Evie.

The u14 black socks were at home to a strong Coventry team with the Ewe Rams determined to show a positive response to last week’s defeat. They did this from the first whistle by playing good football. Despite good efforts on goal from Steph and Nicole the teams went in 0-0 at half time.

Coventry were more dominant in the second half and scored two excellent long range goals. Derby managed to pull one back and had good opportunities for Lydia and Abbie to score but the game ended 2-1.

The u14 white socks triumphed 12-1 against Derwent which was a great effort considering players were absent including the Ewe Rams goal keeper.

The u12 black socks beat Duffield 5-1 and the u12 white socks lost to Burton 6-1.
U11, u10 and u9 played Heanor, Belper and Outwoods respectively in the non-competitive leagues
