Derby County Ladies Football Club

Game Week 12 with Academy Director Dave Cholerton

As we head towards the Xmas break, it is pleasing to see our teams continue to develop their games and fully switched on in games, looking to take the plans that are worked on in training into their matches.

The U12 black socks were up against GAD Khalsa Milan and despite going 1-0 down, the Ewe Rams showed the resilience and creativity to win the game 2-1 with a goal from Lydia and a deflected goal from Katie’s corner.

The Foundation team played away to Wirksworth in the Derbyshire League and came away with a 3-0 victory with goals from Elisha Gourlay, Phoebe Roe and Charlotte Fitch to maintain their positive start to the season.

On Saturday, the U16’s were at home to Coventry who are trying to close the gap between themselves and the Ewe Rams who are top of the league following their 100% start to the season. Derby won the game 2-0 with goals from Chloe and Jet. Both players hit the wood work as well. A solid performance defensively from Derby meant that Naeve had an untroubled game.

The U15’s were at home to top of the league Leicester City. Leicester are a quality team who play effective football. They were 2-0 up at half time. Derby came out with more determination in the second half and brave play from Iesha nearly created an opportunity and Evie had a great effort saved by the Leicester goal keeper. Leicester got the next goal and from here they grew in confidence to win the game 5-0.

The U14 Black Socks were away to Warwick. The Ewe Rams passed the ball much better than their last game and created the opportunities to win 4-1 which included a first goal of the season from Tash, a headed goal from a corner. Steph x2 and Nicola also scored.

The U14 white socks won 7-1 against Beaufort United and the U12 white socks lost 2-0 to Stretton. The U12 black socks in the Derbyshire League won 15-0 and our U11 white socks, U10’s and U9’s had games against Eastwood, Shardlow and Belper.
