Derby County Ladies Football Club

Game Week 13 with Academy Director Dave Cholerton

This past week has seen the cold weather particularly take effect and so far we have managed to have our games beat the conditions and thankfully so far no repeats of last season.

Once again this season, I have been delighted with the application from both players and coaches who have worked tremendously hard and continue to represent the club and we are proud of them all.

Next weekend will see our Annual Christmas Party take place at Pride Park from 6;30pm next Sunday in the Toyota Suite and we are excited to have former Rams star Nigel Callaghan with us as DJ on the night. We want to celebrate the great success and hard work that has been put in so far this season and unwind and have a bit of festive fun.

Onto the football from last week now and with no games for our u12 teams, u16 and Foundation team and our u9 and u10 playing each each, we only have 6 games to report on.

The U14 white socks played Sleetmoor. Both teams went into the game with a 100% record in the league this season. It was a well fort match with Derby coming from behind twice to win 4-2. Goals came from Scarlet, Pip and a brace from Millie.

The U14 black socks were without a game so they arranged a friendly against Notts County. Despite going 2-1 down the Ewe Rams scored two in the last 15 minutes to win 3-2. The game gave coach Freeman the opportunity to explore with new formations and positions.

The U15 played away to Redditch United winning 8-0 with goals from Evie 3, Ellie 2, Milly, Sophie B and an OG.

The U12 Derbyshire league team won 9-1 against Wirksworth and U11 white socks played Stanton Ilkeston. The u9 and u10 continued their development in a game against each other.
