Derby County Ladies Football Club

Game week 21 with Academy Director Dave Cholerton

The season has now reached an important stage where games are less frequent after a better winter than previous seasons and more games having been played by all teams.

It is important that players continue their training ethos of hard work and I am delighted to see that our players are thriving and playing to improve their skills and develop as both players and people in a team environment.

These different sets of challenges that we are facing each season are great tools for their end product when they reach adult football and we believe that they will be fully prepared when the time comes and hopefully many of our players can move onto our senior teams in future!

The u12 black socks won 1-0 against Alvo boys. An excellent performance by the Ewe Rams with Lydia scoring the winning goal.

U12 black socks in the Derbyshire league beat Belper 6-2 and the Foundation team lost 2-1 to Draycott.

The u14 black socks, u15 and u16 were without a game so the teams arranged friendlies against boys teams to continue their development and give them a more physical challenge.

The u14 black socks lost 8-0 to Mickleover but Coach Hannah Freeman said “it was a good learning experience for the girls.”

The u15 and u16 combined their teams to give Chellaston a good game with the Ewe Rams losing 10-6.

U11 white socks played Chellaston and the u9 and u10 played Shardlow and Hilton respectively.
