Derby County Ladies Football Club

Game Week 27 with Academy Director Dave Cholerton

It was semi final weekend for our 3 youngest teams. The u9, u10 and u11 white socks booked their place in the final with victories over Belper (4-0), Burton (3-0) and Ripley (6-0).

The u11 white socks, in today’s featured picture, six goals were scored by Riya 2, Emmie 2, Georgina and Mimi. They now look forward to a place in the final against Sleetmoor and they are a part of six Academy teams who have a cup final to look forward to.

These three teams play non-competitive football as part of their early development in football but as the players grow in their development both physically and cognitively, periods of competition can increase, hence why they are invited to play competitive football in the cup.

The Academy’s u9, u10 and u11 white socks teams have worked hard this season to show development as individual  players and collectively as teams. Many of the players are in their first season with the club and they have really demonstrated potential to continue their development with the Academy.

The teams now have cup finals to look forward to as well as the Academy’s club festival on Saturday 15th June.

Elsewhere, The u14 black socks lost 3-1 at home to Alvechurch and the u15 lost 3-0 to Leicester.
