Derby County Ladies Football Club

Growth of Women’s Game Vital for Businesses says Ewe Rams Main Club Partners

Derby County Ladies Main Club Partners, Raygar believe that the club’s highest ever league position will be a catalyst for a League challenge title this coming season and on the back of the Women’s World Cup, Women’s Football is now a vehicle for businesses to invest in.

The well-known Derby based business have been a valued follower of sports across the region for a number of years and joining the club as Main Club Partner on a two year deal at the start of the 2018/19 season, has helped boost the companies profile further according to owner Ray Garlick.

Garlick said “Being on board as the club finished in it’s highest ever position is a proud moment for our company .We were delighted to play our part in that and we are looking forward to a successful 2019/20 season in the second year of our deal.

“We’ve seen our company profiled each week at the clubs games, throughout every day of the week via their considerable media footprint, as well as by the large staff team at the Merlin on Derby County FC male team home match days. For us its all about exposing people to our brand and the quality that goes hand in hand with that, and we believe we have achieved much of that aim during our first season aligned to the club.  With millions of viewers focusing their attentions on the female game during the current FIFA Women’s World Cup, we are confident that more people will take note of what is going on in the game locally and the businesses already supporting it.

“We’ve been delighted with the service that the Ewe Rams have given us and we are excited for the new season and what could potentially be a stand out season. The ultimate aim is for the club to be involved at the very elite end of the game and we have invested in them in the hope that we can help them achieve that objective.”

For Derby County Ladies CEO Duncan Gibb, the chance for a local company to be the club’s Main Partner is aligned with the core values of the club and that Raygar can go onto play their part in a hopeful promotion this coming season.

Gibb said “Sponsorship within the Women’s game was up until quite recently seen as something of a bit of a closed shop, in that club partners were usually generated from within the club; however as a board we have worked incredibly hard to move away from that model and operate more in keeping with our male club counterparts.”

“I’m pleased to say that we have been hugely successful in achieving that objective, based on the very simple principals of providing tangible exposure and value for money to our partners. This in turn has seen us evolve the commercial revenues side of the club into securing multiyear deals that work for us from a business strategy objective, and for our partners in terms of long term alignment to a fast moving and developing brand.”

“Having a well known Derby based company that actively engages in the local region is fantastic for the club and for Ray and his team at Raygar. They are exactly the type of company that we wish to be associated with in terms of their standing within the local business picture and their integrity as a company and local employer. We hope as we come into the second year of our two year deal that we can continue to do the business on the pitch.”
