Midfielder Emily Joyce Wins Supporters Player of the Year Award

Derby County Ladies Midfielder Emily Joyce has been rewarded for her performances this season by winning the clubs Supporters Player of the Year Award at the Derby County Awards Night.

The midfielder was signed in the summer from Birmingham City Women and has made her presence felt in her first season at the club as she was chosen for the award by the Ewe Rams faithful.

In a first for the Ewe Rams, a panel of fans who regularly attended Ewe Rams games both at home and away were asked to identify their Player of the Season with the combative midfielder taking home the prize.

Joyce spoke to DCLFC Media shortly after receiving the Award and said “To be voted as Player of the Year by the Fans is a great achievement and I’m really proud to win the award.

“I’ve felt I’ve had a good season and have been happy with my performances and hope we can finish it off now in the final two games and move into next season on a high!”

Also speaking to DCLFC Media was Manager Sam Griffiths who had this to say about the midfielder “This is thoroughly deserved for Joycey, it’s nice to see that the distance she covers in a game and how important she is to our team has been recognised by the fans.

“Her performances have been consistent and adds energy and drive to our team. She has adapted well into our team this season and I’m looking forward to working with her again next season.”
