Match Summary

Derby County Ladies FC U12 (White Socks) started their third match of the 2019/20 season very strongly.

The DCLFC U12 (White Socks) dominated the first quarter of this match and forced Toton United U13 Girls to coincide three corners kicks within the first 15 minutes. However, the Toton United U13 Girls turned the game around with two goals in succession at the 15 and 18 minutes.

Despite coinciding these two goals within three minutes Alex and Imogen pulled two spectacular goals back during the 21 and 26 minutes. Outstanding defending and attacking from both teams imply that the first half ended 2 – 2 all square.

Toton United Girls U13 came out of the blocks during the second half stronger. Their persistency paid off and they scored three goals between the 35 and 40 minutes of the match. The DCLFC U12 (White Socks) curtailed numerous counter attacks with exceptional saves by Georgie and exemplary teamwork.

Another three minutes of onslaughts and high press from Toton United Girls U13 increased their lead by two goals between the 45 and 48 minutes. The increased score margin notwithstanding, the DCLFC U12 (White Socks) maintained their discipline and continued to defend and attack as a formidable unit.

Numerous saves by Georgie enhanced the confidence the of DCLFC U12 (White Socks) Girls. The enhanced confidence and classy DCLF’s passing moves resulted in Imogen adding to her tally of the day during the 57 minutes to reduce the goal margin. Toton United U13 Girls immediately restored their five-goal lead within a minute of Imogen’s goal.

DCLFC U12 (White Socks) Girls ended the match on the high with a well taken goal by Mimi during the 60 minutes of the match.

Despite the score-line, the DCLFC U12 (white Socks) gave Toton United U13 Girls a run for their money. In the words of the Toton Manager ‘You have a great bunch of girls; they played the match the right way. The 1-2 forward play was frightening at times. The scores irrelevant, it as a closely fought match and I look forward to the return fixture’. We are flattered by this evaluation and we look forward to the return fixture.
