First game of the season for Derby County LFC U12 White Socks playing a year up against Hilton Harriers.

A nervous team to begin with, they got in the flow  and became stronger as the game continued. The first half saw Gk Edie making some great saves but the team struggled to get it out of their own half with lots of pressure from Hilton.

Jasmine worked hard at the back, with Chanelle challenging everything in midfield. 3-0 down at half time but the girls came out with more determination second half.

Amber took over as Gk, rising well to the challenge and Izzy applied pressure in midfield supported well by Charlotte and Lottie.  Lottie won a brilliant challenge on the ball after working hard all game. Freyja stepped up in defence, applying more pressure.

A free kick given against us for handball, led to an interesting version of the wall but no goal for Hilton.

Final sub of the game and Lola stepped into a defending role linking well with Charlotte. Aliyah took over  midfield displaying her ability to tackle and passing onto Lia, which pushed us more into their half.

In the end it wasn't to be with 2 more goals scored by Hilton making it 5-0. All in all a good testing first game for the girls, with plenty of promise for the coming season.
