Unison Extend Ewe Rams Deal for Third Year

They say all good things come in three’s and for Unison, their partnership with Derby County Ladies ahead of the 2019/20 season has been extended for a third consecutive season amid huge interest in the Women’s game on the back of a successful FIFA Women’s World Cup.

With over 1.4 million members, Unison are the Public Services Union and aligning their brand to a progressive club within a sport that has historically faced inequality issues represents a good fit according to Unison spokesperson Franco Buonaguro.

“We look forward to another successful season aligned to Derby County Ladies FC by way of our partnership with them through the clubs new Under 18’s side. No club within the women’s game has worked harder in terms of aligning itself to the models, dynamics and structures associated with the men’s game and it’s no surprise to see them breaking down inequality barriers as a result of that. In addition to that, aligning to the Under 18’s side works well for us, in terms of supporting players at the coalface of the clubs Academy as they push on to hopefully migrate into senior level football, where educational and financial reward opportunities lie.

Derby County Ladies Relationship Director Neil Jackson said “It’s great to have Unison on board yet again, given that they are exactly the type of partner that naturally align themselves to not just the club, but the wider women’s game. Franco and the team at Unison have been delighted with the increased profile and exposure opportunities that we have been able to facilitate and we look forward to working very closely with them over the coming years.
